India Lissak, B.S.

Research Coordinator

Following my graduation from Bates College with a degree in Neuroscience in 2018, I joined the ICU Precision Medicine Lab in the MGH Neuro ICU as a clinical research coordinator where I have been involved in a number of TBI clinical trials. Through working with patients and families in the Neuro ICU, I have developed a strong interest in how religious and cultural backgrounds influence perceptions of care and decision-making, particularly in the context of withdrawal of life sustaining therapy for patients with severe brain injuries. As a member of NICC, I am excited to be working on a study to assess the ethical perspectives of key stakeholders on the clinical use of stimulus-based fMRI and EEG for detection of covert consciousness. I hope to attend medical school in the near future. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, hiking and baking.
