Ally Sterling, Sc.M., M.B.E.
LIFUP Project Manager
Ally Sterling coordinates the low-intensity focused ultrasound pulsation (LIFUP) study in the NICC lab, which aims to promote recovery from disorders of consciousness. She previously spent four years coordinating the Spaulding–Harvard Traumatic Brain Injury Model System program in the Neurorehabilitation Laboratory at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. At Spaulding, she also worked on a study developing a telephone-based caregiver interview to remotely monitor neurobehavioral function in persons with severe brain injury. In 2025, Ally completed a six-month volunteer fellowship in the Joseph Sagol Neuroscience Center at Sheba Tel HaShomer Medical Center in Israel, conducting research on war-related traumatic brain injury. She graduated with a dual BA in neuroscience from Columbia University and Talmud from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America, followed by an ScM in Medical Sciences from Brown University and a Master of Bioethics from Harvard Medical School.
