Delaney Smith, B.A.

Research Coordinator

Originally from Pennsylvania, I recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with honors in Psychology, where I was also a Division I student-athlete on the softball team. During my time at Penn, I developed a passion for clinical neuroscience and neuropsychology through research at the EDEN Lab, where I studied early childhood social and emotional development and the behavioral factors associated with callous-unemotional traits. I also gained clinical research experience at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, contributing to projects examining neuropsychological outcomes in pediatric multiple sclerosis and vascular anomalies.

These experiences strengthened my interest in understanding disorders of the brain and improving patient care through translational research. I am excited to join the NICC lab and contribute to research advancing our understanding of disorders of consciousness and recovery after severe brain injury.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through strength training and Pilates, exploring Boston, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
