Tia Joseph, B.S.
Research Coordinator
I’m originally from the Greater Boston area and I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I majored in Neuroscience on the Pre-Med track and graduated with honors in January 2026. During my time at UMass, I became involved in research exploring the neural processes underlying sleep and memory across the lifespan. Learning more about environmental factors that impact brain function and cognition sparked a broader interest in mental health research, which led me to contribute to studies at McLean Hospital on emotional memory and information processing in major depressive disorder. At NICC, I am looking forward to learning more about the effects of TBI on brain function and pathways towards improving the diagnosis and prognosis of disorders of consciousness. In my free time, I enjoy martial arts, dance, traveling, and cheering for Boston sports teams.
